In 1996, Cobra USA created a show bike homage to the ’48 Indian Chief based on a Kawasaki Vulcan. It was so popular that it inspired a production model – the Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter. Indian experts will never confuse this for an original Chief, obviously, but it’s an impressive tribute from Kawi that has become a cult bike. The Drifter was available in 800cc or 1500cc (1470) variants – the latter is available here today and the bigger engine put out 63 horsepower and 83 pound-feet of torque. It weighed 715 pounds wet, but the specifications aren’t super important with this bike. Many riders found it to be the perfect compromise of 40s looks with modern technology. 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan® 1500 Drifter

The Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Drifter is a cruiser style motorcycle and was carryover for 2004. Power is provided by a 4-Stroke, 1470cc, Liquid cooled, SOHC, V Twin engine with Electric starter. The engine is paired with The Vulcan 1500 Drifter has a 130/90 R16 front tire and 150/80 R16 rear tire. The front suspension is a Telescopic Fork while the rear suspension is a Twin Sided Swing Arm. Front Disc brakes and rear Disc brakes provide stopping power. The Vulcan 1500 Drifter comes standard with an One-Piece, 1-passenger seat.
